Color is good. It brightens the world around you.
Color on your teeth – not so good. Tooth discoloration happens with age, diet, and lifestyle choices.
Cosmetic dentistry restores the natural color to your teeth. Bright and white are the standard, natural shade you should expect.
At-home teeth whitening has advantages. But it also has a load of disadvantages.
First, it’s messy. Whitening trays, gel application, and the time span for noticeable results make consistency a challenge.
Over-the-counter whitening strips and toothpastes don’t last. Their results are somewhat inconclusive.
Fast and noticeably effective
There’s another alternative for restoring or completely transforming the appearance of your teeth. Zoom!® in-office teeth whitening delivers quick, visible results.
Zoom!® is a clinically proven chair side procedure. Your teeth will be noticeably whiter following one treatment in our Knoxville dental office.
In many cases your teeth will be up to eight shades whiter following the one-hour process. The brightness will outlast at-home whitening trays or over-the-counter methods.
Zoom!® is also effective if you have previously been sensitive to whitening treatment. The technology is professionally applied and monitored in the comfort of our office.
What to expect
The full Zoom!® experience takes approximately one hour. We will prepare your lips and gums to avoid any unnecessary irritation.
The special Zoom!® whitening gel is applied directly to your teeth. Hydrogen peroxide is the gel’s active ingredient that affects your tooth enamel to bleach out any discoloration.
The Zoom!® light activates the gel, enabling it to penetrate your tooth surface, and speed the whitening process. The lighting technology is positioned over your teeth for 15 minutes at a time.
During your time under the lamp you can relax and listen to music if you choose. The 15 minute illumination period will be repeated two more times for a total of 45 minutes.
Before you Zoom!®
Your Zoom!® whitening treatment includes a preliminary dental examination. We will determine the specifics of your tooth stains and if the Zoom!® procedure will be effective for you.
A teeth cleaning is also recommended prior to your Zoom!® whitening treatment. This removes any dental plaque and tartar from your tooth surfaces.
We also make you aware of any side effects that can accompany Zoom!®. Chemicals in the gel the can cause tooth sensitivity on occasion.
The Zoom!® lamp produces a level of heat. We take necessary precautions to help assure that your lips, gums, and eyes are protected from any damage.
You are encouraged to make effective lifestyle changes to preserve your new, whiter smile. Follow-up treatment is recommended for touch-ups in-office and with at home kits.
